In what two ways did Northerners respond to the Emancipation Proclamation?

They did not approve of slaves being set free.
They did not think the document went far enough.
They believed the war was about secession.
They thought it should have not been written.

I believe the answer is: "They did not approve of slaves being set free" and "They believed the war was about secession"

Some of the northeners have their own economic interest in the southern states, which make some of them believe that setting the slaves free would damage them financially.

The other part of the northeners believe that the war is about preventing the states from forming their own independent countries which alllow them with the full rights for legislations regarding slavery.

"They did not approve of slaves being set free" and "They believed the war was about secession" were the two ways that the Northerners responded to the Emancipation Proclamation. The correct options among all the options that are given in the question are the first option and the third option. I hope it helped you.
