without pre-existing ribosomes (protein) you can't make new ones.so option c is right.

This is true because in order for translation (protein synthesis) to occur, it needs many enzymes (proteins). Each amino acid that is added to a protein involves a specific enzyme for the amino acid added. Thats a lot of protein needed just to make a protein. C is the correct answer
