There are roads at the two ends of the bike path, but the remainder of the paved bike path goes through the woods. What proportion of accidents happen more than 1 mile from either road? (Hint: First determine where on the bike path the accident needs to occur to be more than 1 mile from either road, and then find the area. Enter your answer to one decimal place.)

To solve the problem above on the proportion accident happen more than 1 mile from either of the road please check on the solution below:

area between 1 and 4 = (4 − 1) × 1/5 = 3/5 = 0.6
