I can buy 56 diapers at Babies-R-Us for $28, and I can buy 112 diapers online for $52. Which is the better deal, and how much will you save per diaper?

The diapers at the store would be $0.50 per diaper, online they would be $0.46 a diaper, so online is a better deal and you would save $0.04 a diaper.

Answer:

So we can find the ratio respect the option Babies-Us

(28)/(56)= (1)/(2) or 0.5 $/diaper

And for the online option we have:

(52)/(112)= (13)/(128) or 0.464$/ diaper

As we can see is cheaper the online option since 0.464<0.5. and the reduction is about
0.5-0.464= 0.0337 dollars per diaper.

Explanation:

We can answer this question using ratios. On this case we want to see which option is better so we can use the followin ratio to compare:

(Money)/(amount)

So we can find the ratio respect the option Babies-Us

(28)/(56)= (1)/(2) or 0.5 $/diaper

And for the online option we have:

(52)/(112)= (13)/(128) or 0.464$/ diaper

As we can see is cheaper the online option since 0.464<0.5. and the reduction is about
0.5-0.464= 0.0337 dollars per diaper.
