4 is the highest number that goes into 12,28,and 36

12/4 = 3
28/4 = 7
36/4 = 9

so she can make 4 baskets....each containing 3 coloring books, 7 markers, and 9 crayons

Answer:

4 baskets, in each basket she can put 3 books, 7 markers and 9 crayons

Explanation:

Lisa has 12 coloring books, 28 markers, and 36 crayons to donate.

To find how many baskets she can make if each type of toy is equally distributed among the baskets, We will calculate HCF of these numbers.

First we will write the factors

12 = 2 × 2 × 3

28 = 2 × 2 × 7

36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

HCF = 2 × 2 = 4

Lisa makes 4 baskets in which she can equally distribute each type of toy.

12 coloring books =
(12)/(4) = 3 books in each basket

28 markers =
(28)/(4) = 7 markers in each basket

36 crayons =
(36)/(4) = 9 crayons in each basket.
