Select the correct answer from each drop-down menu. The scatter plot shows the amount of water in a tank as measured every few minutes. The initial amount of water in tank was 0, 20, 100, or 120 gallons. The line of best fit shows that about 4/3, 3/4, 2/3, or 1/2 gallon(s) of water were lost per minute. The tank will be empty in about 0, 60, 80, or 90 minutes.

According to the graph, it is observed that the graph is a negative graph because it is decreasing downward.

The initial amount of water in the tank before it start decreasing is 120 gallons

To get the amount of water that was loss per minutes, we need to find the slope of the graph

Slope = rise / run

rise = gallons of water

run = time in minutes

Slope = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

From the graph, we will be picking two points

( 30, 80) and (60, 40)

let x1 = 30, y1 = 80, x2 = 60 and y2 = 40

Slope = 40 - 80 / 60 - 30

Slope = -40 / 30

Slope = -4/3

The negative indicates that there is loss in gallons of water per minutes

The line of best fit shows that about 4/3 gallons of water were lost per minute.

According to the graph, the tank will be empty about 60 minutes
