x=8/49 because x equals unknown number so 8(x-3)=x+25, from there the problem is easy.

x=is the number
We can sugget this equation:
8(x-3)=x+25

8x-24=x+25
8x-x=25+24
7x=49
x=49/7
x=7

answer: the number is 7.
