a car can travel 476 miles on 14 gallons of gas .write an equation relating the distance d to the number of gallons g.how many gallons of gas does this car need to travel 578 miles.

For the second half,

I would say, divide 476 by 14 to get the amount of miles to every 1 gallon. Doing this, you would get 36. Now divide 578 by 36. This would give you about 16.05 gallons.
