$192 \text{ cm}^2$

Explanation:

The area of each of the two triangular faces is
$(1)/(2)(8)(3)=12 \text{ cm}^2$ .

The area of each of the two rectangular side faces is
$(12)(3)=36 \text{ cm}^2$ .

The area of the rectangular bottom face is
$(12)(8)=96 \text{ cm}^2$ .

So, the surface area is
$2(12)+2(36)+96=192 \text{ cm}^2$ .
