How did domesticating livestock allowed civilisations to spread?

by domesticating livestock, tribes could afford to be non-nomadic,as they have a constant and reliable food source that they can draw upon. this is the basis for all of today's cities and towns

....The main way in which domesticating livestock allowed civilizations to spread is that people were freed up to do other things like woodworking and opening shops, since they no longer needed to hunt and gather their food and resources...
