Answer:

5 large bags and 1 small bag

Explanation:

Let's start with:

x=small
bags → 5 dollars

y=large
bags → 8 dollars

Now we write system of equations:

\left \{ {{x+y=6} \atop {5x+8y=45}} \right.

Separate y.

y=6-x

5x+8(6-x)=45\\5x-8x=45-48\\-3x=-3\\x=1

Back to first equation.

y=6-1\\y=5

I have got 5 large bags and 1 small bag.

Hope this helped :D

Based on the given problem above, here is the given solution.
Given that small bags = $5
large bags = $8
6 bags = $45
? = number of each size bag you bought
The answer based on the given values above is 5 LARGE BAGS and 1 SMALL BAG.
Since per large bag is $8. $8 x 5 = $40
And per small bag is $5 x 1 = $5
So this gives you a total of $45
hope this helps!
