The denominator in a fraction represents the total number of equal size pieces that make up a whole.

In the given fraction,the numerator is 6 and the denominator is 8. To Convert to a decimal divide the number of parts (the numerator) by the number of parts needed to complete a whole (the denominator).

Therefore 6÷8 = decimal

Decimal = 0.75
