Give the complete balanced equation for the reaction that occurs when magnesium chlorate (Mg(ClO3)2) is heated. You do not need to make the subscripts smaller in your answer, just write them out as regular numbers.. . For example: Mg(ClO3)2.

Balanced chemical equation: Mg(ClO₃)₂(s) → MgCl₂ + 3O₂(g).

Magnesium chlorate is decomposed on magnesium chlorate and oxygen.

According to principle of mass conservation, number of atoms must be equal on both side of chemical reaction.

There are one magnesium atom, two chlorine atoms and six oxygen atoms on both side of balanced chemical reaction.

Decomposition is reaction where one substance (in this example magnesium chlorate) is broken down into two or more simpler substances (magnesium chloride and oxygen).
