The italian city states among the mentioned in the question are Milan, Florence and Venice. Milan belonged to the northern city-states along with Piacenza, Mantua, Verona, Vicenza, Padua among others. In central Italy there where city-states of Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, so on; and Venice was placed in the Adriatic, along with Ragusa.

Milan, Florence and Venice were all Italian city-states. Paris was not an Italian city-state because it is in France, not in Italy.
