EXPLANATION: Hernández de Córdoba in 1517 sailed from Spain and steppred their foot on Yucatan Peninsula. Since the, Spain claimed that Mexico is owned by them. After a revolution, in 1822, Mexico got independence from Spain. But this independence was not a beneficial one and the land was still in the hands of aristocrats. These aristocrats contained wealthy foreigners, the Mexican upper class and the Church. A formed president of Mexico, Porfirio Diaz sold almost sold all of Mexico to foreigners during his term. This resulted in a second revolution in 1917.
