1 way is (100 divide by 5) +(35 divide by 5)
2 way is (50 divide by 5) + (85 divide by 5)

Answer and Explanation:

Given : Expression
135/ 5

To find : Draw two different ways to break apart the array. Use the distributive property to write products for each different way ?

Solution :

Distributive property,
(a*b)*c=(a*c)*(b*c)

Where, * is the symbol of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

To draw two different ways to break apart the array are

1) Break 135 as 100+35

So,
135/ 5=(100+35)/ 5

135/ 5=100/ 5+35/ 5

135/ 5=20+7

135/ 5=27

2) Break 135 as 120+15

So,
135/ 5=(120+15)/ 5

135/ 5=120/ 5+15/ 5

135/ 5=24+3

135/ 5=27
