You are looking for how many miles he traveled in one day.
You already know that 1,100 miles in 9 5/6 days
Make an equation
1,100 miles=9 5/6 days
? miles = 1 day
To get to the first equation the 2nd divide both sides by 9 5/6 days
To divide by a mixed number
First convert it to a improper fraction
1,100 =59/6 days
Then multiple by the reciprocal or the flipped version of it
1,100*6/59=59/6days*6/59
So in the end he averaged about 111.8 miles a day.
