length = 5 *width

Area = 500 yd^2

Perimeter = ?

Equations

Area = length * width

Perimeter = 2 length + 2 width

1.- Find the width

500 = 5*width x width

500/5 = width^2

100 = width^2

width = 10 yd

2.- Calculate the length

length = 5(10)

length = 50 yd

3.- Calculate the perimeter

Perimeter = 2(50) + 2(10)

Perimeter = 100 + 20

Perimeter = 120 yd.
