Solution

For this case we know that the total of numbers are 50 and then the player needs to select 7 out of 8 numbers to win the second prize so then in terms of probability we can do this:


p=(8C7(42C1))/(50C8)

And using properties of combinatories we got:


p=(8\cdot42)/(50C8)=(336)/(536878650)=(8)/(12782825)
