Imperialism is the domination of a country by a group of people or another country. The old imperialism lasted from the 16th to the early of the 19th century, while the New imperialism started in 1870 and lasted for almost the entire 20th century. The most important feature that shaped the new era and not the old era was the introduction of the Industrial Revolution. The radical change in science, technology, and industry drove economic growth and boosted the European economy needs to new expansions.
