Numbers like 10, 100, 1,000, and so on are called multiples of 10 or powers of 10.

In Mathematics and Euclidean Geometry, an exponent can be represented or modeled by this mathematical expression;

b^n

Where:

  • the variables b and n are numbers (numerical values), letters, or an algebraic expression.
  • n is known as a superscript or power.

Generally speaking, numbers (numerical values) that starts with a 1 and followed by only zeros (0s) such as 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 and so on are referred to as powers of ten. Hence, its easy for them to berepresent as exponents;

10 =10^1\\\\100=10^2\\\\1000=10^3\\\\10000=10^4

In conclusion, powers of ten are the result of multiplying the number 10 by its self any number of times.
