0.17 is greater than 0.165 because if you look at it you will see the tenths are the same so then you look to the hundredths and then you will realize that a 7 is bigger than a 6.and that means no number after that matters.

0.17 is greater than 0.165. In the hundredths place, 0.17 has a 7 in the hundredths place, 0.165 has a 6 in the hundredths place
Compare 7 and 6, 7 is bigger so 0.17 is bigger than 0.165
