one fourth of 16 = 1/4 x 16 =
4
(OF means multiplication so we multiply 1/4 by 16)
one third of 24= 1/3 x 24 =
8
(OF means multiplication so we multiply 1/3 by 24)
As you can see 8 is bigger than 4 therefore one third of 24 is bigger
