Similarities between ethnic groups are that there are numerous languages used and many different ethnic groups in both countries. The differences however are often based on the origin of immigration. African-Americans are often descended from slaves, while Canada did not have slavery and has people who immigrated. Another difference is that there are many many more different ethnic groups in the US than in Canada.
