So first you would divide the 10 by 2
-4=12p+5

Then you subtract the five from both sides to try to isolate the variable p
-4=12p+5
-5 -5
You then divide both sides by 12 to solve for p and simplify
-9=12p
(-9/12)=(12p/12)
-3/4=p
