You are simply reversing the equation
(X+5)/9=3
First times 3 by 9 giving you 27
X+5=27
Now subtract 5 to get your answer
27-5=22
and 22 is your answer!!!!

x = number
(x + 5)/9 = 3
multiply by 9
x + 5 = 27
then solve
x = 22
