1.7 and 1.700 have the same value, this is because any 0's after the 7 don't change the value. They don't change the value because it is after the decimal point. If it was before the decimal point then the value would change.

1.700 can be written as

1.700=(17)/(10)

Therefore, both decimal number have same value.
