Answer:

D. HJ = 25, JK = 25, HK = 50.

Explanation:

Given : J is the midpoint of HK¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ . and HK and Measure of segment HJ is 9x-2 and that of segment JK is 4x+13.

To find : What are HJ, JK, and HK.

Solution ; We have given that J is the midpoint of HK

HJ = 9x-2 .

JK = 4x+13.

Midpoint : point that divide the line in to two equally parts.

Then

HJ = Jk

9x-2 = 4x+13 .

On subtracting 4x from both sides

9x -4x -2 = 13

5x - 2 = 13.

On adding by 2 both sides

5x = 15

On dividing both sides bu 5

x = 3.

Then HJ = 9 (3) - 2

HJ = 27 - 2 = 25

HJ = 25 .

JK = 4 ( 3) + 13

JK = 12 + 13 = 25 .

Jk = 25 .

HK = HJ + Jk .

HK = 25 + 25.

HK = 50.

Therefore, D. HJ = 25, JK = 25, HK = 50.
