The volume of a gas will decrease as temperature drops. Charles's Law shows the relation to gas volume and gas temperature in a given fixed container[V / T = C]. This is from the excitement of the molecules in the gas. The higher the temperature of a gas, the fast the molecules are moving. When molecules increase in temperature (energy) they collide with each other more often causing the molecules to space apart more.
