Explanation:

If you recall, slope is rise/run (or y/x). Look at the point intersections (where the line crosses through a point on the graph) and compare that to the distance of the nearest point intersection.

Looking at points (-1, -5) and (0, -2) we observe that the x changes by +1, and the y changes by +3. Using rise/run (y/x) we get 3/1. The slope is 3.

we can disregard the -3 bc the line is going up so it cant be negative

then we find a point and find its rise over run or rise/run

our rise is 3 and our run is 1

so 3/1 is 3

so our slope is 3
