okay .. let's say we use x as the number

A. 1/x - 4 = 2x - 37
B. ( I ain't really sure about this )

working: 1/x - 4 = 2x - 37
-4 + 37 = 2x - 1/x
33 = 2x/1 - 1/x
33 = 2x² - 1
_____
x
2x² - 1 = 33x
2x² - 33x = 1
x ( 2x - 33 ) = 1 or x ( 2x - 33 ) - 1 = 0

4 less than 1/2 of x is 37 less than 2 of x
-4+(x/2)=-37+2x
add 37 to both sides
33+(x/2)=2x
times 2 both sides
66+x=4x
minus x both sides
66=3x
divide 3 both sides
22=x
