by using the distributive property you can find that 7(x+3) is 7x + 21.

7(x + 3)....distribute the 7 through the parenthesis...that means multiply 7 by everything in the parenthesis.
7(x + 3) = (7 * x) + (7 * 3) = 7x + 21
