Answer:

3 dozen of mangoes were bought.

Explanation:

Given that:

Mangoes were bought at the rate of Rs. 1.50 per dozen

Mangoes were sold at the rate of Rs. 2.50 per dozen

Profit made = Rs. 2.25

Let,

x be the dozen of mangoes bought.

Profit = Selling cost - Purchase cost

2.25 = 2.25x - 1.50x

2.25 = 0.75x

0.75x = 2.25

Dividing both sides by 0.75

(0.75x)/(0.75)=(2.25)/(0.75)\\x = 3

Hence,

3 dozen of mangoes were bought.
