Enzymes have specific shape that determine their function

Enzymes are proteins that functions as catalysts by speeding up the rate of chemical reactions that occur in the body. Enzymes bind to molecules and change them in certain ways. Enzymes are made up one or more long chains of networks of amino acids. Each enzyme has a specific sequence of amino acids that makes it to fold into a characteristic shape. There is a special cleft known as active site on the surface of each enzyme. Reagents meet and interact with the enzyme on the active site. The active site (shape) of enzymes determines the function of enzymes as it only accommodates specific reagents.
