You want to get the x's on one side and all the other numbers on the other side of the equation.
2x-5x+6=0
2x-5x=-6
-3x=-6
x=2

x^(2)-5x+6=0
Factorizing:
(x - 3)(x - 2) = 0
The solution set is x = 3, x = 2.
