A bag of 28 tulip bulbs contain 10 red tulip bulbs, 12 yellow tulip bulbs, and 6 purple tulip bulbs. What is the probability that one bulb is red and one is yellow?

Add all the possibilities,
12 + 10 + 6 = 28 (your denominator).
Now, 10 + 12 = 22 (which is your red and yellow bulbs)
22/28, now simplify. 11/14 , you can't get any lower.
Answer: 11/14
