A cable is lifting a construction worker and a crate. The weights of the worker and crate are 965 N and 1510 N, respectively. The acceleration of the cable is 0.620 m/s^2, upward. What is the tension in the cable above the worker (the worker is above the crate, not touching it)?

Since resultant force = mass * acceleration,
T-2475 = 0.620*mass
mass =
(2475)/(9.8) = 252.5...
therefore
T=(0.620*252.5...)+2475=2631.55... = 2630N (3sf)
