We know that each baby elephant weighs around 230 pounds, and about 20 calves were born during summer.

Then the total weight of all the little elephants is the number of them multiplied by the weight of each one; this is 20*230 pounds = 4600 pounds

And we now want to write this with the scientific notation.

using that 4600/1000 = 4.6, we can write:
