-2x +12 = x² +16

change side ;

x²+2x+16-12 = 0

x²+2x+4 = 0

(x+2)(x+2) = 0

x = -2

substitution x= -2

; -2(-2) + 12 = (-2)² + 16

4+12 = 4+16

16 = 20
