m + p = 48
m = 2p - 6

2p - 6 + p = 48
3p - 6 = 48
3p = 48 + 6
3p = 54
p = 54/3
p = 18 <==Pennsylvania Pigs won 18 games

m = 2p - 6
m = 2(18) - 6
m = 36 - 6
m = 30 <==Maryland Monkeys won 30 games
