the influence of technology on American life

Advancements in the 1920s made life for Americans easier and the advancements came from the innovations of the industrial era.

These advancements helped to connect Americans living all over the country. Telephones relayed information quickly and over long distance. The radio (aided by electricity in the home) allowed leadership to communicate to citizens. The radio was also used for entertainment with programming bringing shows, news, and sports events into the homes of Americans. Indoor plumbing sanitized water systems and urban areas in particular. People could clean themselves and cook more easily with plumbing as well.
