If the gametes produced by a given organism contain 6 chromosomes, how many chromosomes are found in that organism’s body cells?

The answer would be 12 I took the exam yesterday and got it right sooo yea hope this helps :)

The answer is 12.

The gametes are haploid which means they have n chromosomes unlike the body cells which have 2n chromosomes and are diploid. Thus, the body cells have twice more chromosomes than the gametes. So, if the gametes contain 6 chromosomes, the body cells will have twice more which is 12 chromosomes (6 *2 = 12).
