The answer is hydrogen bonds.

In proteins, hydrogen bonds are formed between amino groups and carboxyl groups. Alpha helices and beta sheets are protein secondary structures. These structures are stable thanks to hydrogen bonds which enables them to form from different sequences of amino acids.
