Decide which part of the quadratic formula tells you whether the quadratic equation can be solved by factoring.

The part of the quadratic formula that tells you whether the equation can be solved by factoting is √b²-4·c·a, as if the result of this is positive you can factor.

The value of this part is: √49 - 24 = √25 = 5
