we have that

Each garden needs three-fourths (3/4) of a bag of soil.

so

Find out how many gardens , if you have 4 bags of soli

Applying proportion

1/(3/4)=x/4

solve for x

x=(1/(3/4))*4

x=(4/3)*4

x=16/3 gardens

convert to mixed number

16/3=15/3+1/3=5+1/3=5 1/3 gardens

therefore

She can fill completely 5 gardens

she left

5*(3/4)=15/4 bags=3.75 bags

4-3.75=0.25 bags or 1/4 bags

therefore

left 1/4 bag
