We were told that

Traingle CDE is similar to triangle WXY. This means that the corresponding sides of the triangles have a common ration and this ratio is equal to the scale factor. The given scale factor is 4:3. This is same as 4/3

We would compare corresponding sides of the triangle. We have

CD/WX = 13/WX = 4/3

By crossmultiplying, we have

4WX = 13 x 3

4WX = 39

WX = 39/4

WX = 9.75

DE/XY = = 29/XY = 4/3

By crossmultiplying, we have

4XY = 29 x 3 = 87

XY = 87/4

XY = 21.75

CE/WY = 22/WY = 4/3

By crossmultiplying, we have

4WY = 22 x 3 = 66

WY = 66/4

WY = 16.5

The perimeter of a traingle is the sum of the length of each side

Perimeter of triangle WXY = 9.75 + 21.75 + 16.5 = 48
