if x+5 is the base, the equation means (x+5)^2=36

so x+5=6

your answer would be x=1

In the problem given, we are asked to solve for x in the function logx + 5.36 = 2. To solve this we add each side first by -5.36. This means log x = -3.36. To isolate x, we raise both sides by the base 10, that is x = 10 ^ -3.36. x then is equal to 4.3652 x 10 -4
