so they think they're pulling a sneaky on us by giving some random values but we know better. we know sin is opposite over hypotenuse and hypotenuse is something we want. we see a given angle with a given opposite and a badly needed hypotenuse so let's use the power of sin on that poor unsuspecting 35 degree angle. let's say sin(35)=20/x but we need to do some algebra voodoo to get that x variable where we want it. isolate x by saying x=20/sin(35). get your calculator unless you're some freaky math genius that knows sin(35) and divide 20 by sin(35) and it's probably close to 34.9 if pythagoras knew anything about triangles but I never met the man
