2xy=x+7
2xy-x=7
x(2y-1)=7
x=7/(2y-1)
Answer: x=7/(2y-1)

Ok,
First, you have to subtract x from both sides,
2xy-x=7
Then you factor out the common term, x
x(2y-1)=7
The last step is to divide....
divide both sides by 2y-1
So you now get
x= 7/2y-1
