Two students, Arjun and Roberto, are helping paint classrooms in the school. On Monday, only Arjun worked and painted 8classrooms. On Tuesday, both Arjun and Roberto worked for the same amount of time, Roberto painted 4 classrooms per hour whileArjun painted 2 classrooms per hour. At the end of Tuesday, Roberto painted the same number of total classrooms as Arjun overboth days.Write an equation that can be used to find the number of hours, t, that either student worked on Tuesday.

It is given that

On Monday, only Arjun worked and painted 8 classrooms.

Roberto painted 4 classrooms per hour while

Arjun painted 2 classrooms per hour

Let t be the number of hours.

Roberto painted the same number of total classrooms as Arjun over

both days.

On the first day, Arjun painted 8 classrooms.

The number of hours Arjun worked=

(8)/(2)=4\text{ hours}

The number of rooms Roberto can pint in 4 hours is

4*4=16\text{ rooms}

If Arjun work 4 hours on second, the number of rooms pained by him is

4*2=8\text{ rooms }

Roberto painted the same number of total classrooms as Arjun over

both days.

16\text{ rooms=8 rooms+8 rooms}

(4*4)\text{ rooms=(4}*2)\text{ rooms+(4}*2)\text{ rooms}

Let t=4, we get
